About Me.
I am a wife, daughter, sister, and friend. I am a person….in process. Most importantly, I am God’s redeemed child. I am constantly curious and ridiculously inquisitive.
I married my best friend, Jeremy in July of 2004. Three weeks after our wedding in the Midwest, we packed almost everything we owned into a 6×12 U-Haul trailer, and headed out west to Portland, Oregon. We had no plan, just a dream and desire to create something new. Truthfully, it was a
complete leap of faith!
As I seek to know Christ more, I am led into a spirit that radiates with simplicity. Since January 2008, I’ve heard a strong calling to explore this area and discover the gems that lie in simple living. For most of my life, I’ve felt that we are too busy, too fast, and too pre-occupied by worldly things. We work to live, live to work, and work to spend. Madness! Isn’t there a better way?
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
~ Romans 12:2
Some of my favorite things include: God, my hubby, family, dinnertime, close friends, great conversation, my cats, yoga, hiking, camping, smores, Scotland, travel, tea, reading, writing, history, vintage, shabby chic design, being quiet, card making, napping, heart growing movies, music, blue skies, sunsets, stars, rolling hills, mountains, water, lavender, gerbera daisies, and vanilla pudding. Did I mention napping?

That’s me in a nutshell. My life is a bit more complicated, but for the most part, I try to live one day at a time. If only I could consistently beam like this woman! It’s one of my favorite retro pics, so I had to include it somewhere here.
Anyway, I look forward to discovering more as I post ideas and personal experiences to this site. Who knows what God has in store!
Thanks for visiting!

Laura,
I have been so blessed by reading your entries…keep them coming! I was thinking about you and Leah just the other day while at my parents house. I was standing on my parents deck, looking across the yard to your “old” yard, remembering wonderful childhood memories! What a great neighborhood to grow up in! I am amazed at your insight and depth and have truly enjoyed your thought provoking words.
Sara,
Thanks so much for your words! And yes, we truly did grow up in a great neighborhood. I think much of my writing is inspired by our “shared” backyards.
Simplicity runs through me as I reflect on my childhood, remembering all the special things we did — it was a blessing and something I will carry with me forever!
Thanks for being part of that memory!
Laura,
I knew there was an amazing lady behind that beautiful smile! You are inspirational! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reminding me what life is really about!
Thanks, Tracy! I appreciate your sweet, kind words.
